On-site production of quasi-continuous ultra-high vacuum pipes

We present a design study for a new production technology for ultra-high vacuum pipes. The pipes are produced in a fully automatised process in sections of hundreds of metres directly in the later location of usage. We estimate the effort for such a production and show that it might be substantially lower than the effort for an off-site production of transportable sections.
