25. Threat Sensitivity as a Targetable Process in Anxious Depression

Nearly half of individuals with Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) have a comorbid anxiety disorder (AD). Yet, the underlying process dysfunctions that characterize comorbid AD and MDD (AD-MDD) are poorly understood. AD-MDD relative to MDD individuals are more likely to have treatment resistance, worse treatment outcomes, higher relapse rates, greater risk of suicide and suicide attempts. This current study used propensity matched AD-MDD and MDD participants to examine threat sensitivity related process dysfunctions.
