Preparation and electrochemical properties of cobalt aluminum layered double hydroxide/carbon-based integrated composite electrode materials for supercapacitors

•CoAl-LDH/carbon-based integrated composite electrode materials were prepared.•We give a novel method to adjust the electrochemical performance of CoAl-LDH/carbon-based composites.•Experiments on capacitors prepared with CoAl-LDH/carbon-based composites.•The synergistic effect of AC and CoAl-LDH was the main reason for its superior capacitive performance.
