Applying AI methods to protein biology

There is an increasing and productive overlap between the fields of artificial intelligence and biology. AI models have proven to be useful tools for making sense of complex data and generating hypotheses. This is exemplified by the progress made in predicting protein structures, and protein complex structures, from input amino acid sequences. In this talk, I'll discuss recent developments in the application of AI methods to protein biology. I'll also touch on what these approaches mean for high-throughput experimental work, where an explicit goal of the project may now be to use the data generated to train a model.
