Simplified Model and Control of Dual Active Bridge Series Resonant Converter

Dual-active-bridge series resonant converters (DBSRCs) both have profits of series resonant converters and dual-active-bridge converters. The model of the converter is vital for designing and optimizing the controller or control system. In this paper, a reduced first-order small signal model is provided, and contrastive analyses of the existing third-order small model and the provided first-order small model with a constant switching frequency of DBSRC are given. Furthermore, a feedforward control method based on the reduced first-order large model is proposed for improving the dynamic response of load change. Finally, the small signal sweep and simulations by PLECS verify the accuracy of the proposed reduced first-order model and the efficacy of the feedforward method.
