摘要
•Patients with oncocytomas, a benign renal mass, should prioritize preservation of renal function when decided on a management strategy•In our single institutional experience of patients with oncocytomas, patients undergoing active surveillance and partial nephrectomy had similar renal function outcomes•Active surveillance should be encouraged for patients with oncocytomas and considered equivalent to partial nephrectomy in terms of renal function preservation•Given similar renal function outcomes in patients undergoing AS and PN, surgery should remain reserved for select patients with oncocytomas
