摘要
The incidence of breast cancer in sub-Saharan Africa continues to increase. In Nigeria, breast cancer is the most common malignancy in women, and approximately 75% of patients with breast cancer present with advanced disease (stage III or IV) [1]. Moreover, the median age at diagnosis is between 35 and 45 years, approximately 2 decades younger than in high-income countries [1,2]. Presenting with palpable breast cancer at this age presents a unique challenge because this is also the age when benign breast lesions are most common.
