摘要
This work derives the theoretical accuracy bounds of the 3D self-localization system based on chipless radio frequency identification (RFID) infrastructure at terahertz (THz) band. In this regards, the unknown position entity concludes its position by measuring the backscattered signals from four reference chipless RFID tags and, then, estimating return time of flight (RToF) using the maximum likelihood estimator (MLE). Cramer Rao lower bound (CRLB) is derived for RToF estimation considering the sampling period that affects the maximum RToF, and the distribution of the tags in the localization process, where the effect of the mentioned parameters in limiting the accuracy of the localization process is presented. For the sake of comparison, the theoretical analysis derivation is compared with the computer simulation.
