摘要
Sound intensity measurement is an important action in the assessment of environmental conditions, especially in urban settings, due to the higher density of pollution sources. Noise exposure for long periods of time has been proven to be harmful to human health, and the continuous monitoring of background noise is crucial for making corrective measures possible. In this context, the current paper presents the development of a sound level meter using commercial of-the-shelf (COTS) components, that is able to send the acquired data over the Internet. The validation and testing phase indicate that it is a useful tool that can easily be used in the Internet of Things context, because of its ability to send the measured data over the Internet.
