摘要

•NTP combined with WS/Fe2+ significantly enhanced toluene degradation performance.•By-product ozone was catalyzed into OH· and O2–· for toluene oxidation in WS/Fe2+.•Decreased Fe2+ concentration and accumulation of organics led to the system deactivation.•The possible degradation pathway of toluene in the NTP + WS/Fe2+ system was proposed.
