摘要
•METH up-regulated the expression of α-syn in neurons and spread α-syn further into astrocytes.•The α-syn accumulated in astrocytes induced neuroinflammation and BBB damage by downregulating Nurr1 expression.•Knockout or inhibition of α-syn or astrocyte-specific overexpression of Nurr1 could partially alleviate symptoms associated with neuroinflammation and relieve BBB injury.
