摘要

•We studied childhood maltreatment (CM) and polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS).•Probable PCOS was present in 29 (12.2 %) women.•Emotional abuse was significantly associated with PCOS, showing robust effects.•Physical abuse was also significantly associated with PCOS.•Sexual abuse and neglect were not associated with PCOS.
