A Delay-Optimized Routing Algorithm for AVB Streams in Time-Sensitive Networking

802.1Q protocol family defines the time-sensitive mechanisms of traffic transmission in Data link layer, which enhances the determinacy as well as reliability of the traffic. There are three kinds of streams in Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN) system: Time-Triggered (TT), Audio-Video-Bridging (AVB) and Best-Effort (BE) streams. Although the priority of AVB streams is lower than that of TT streams, AVB streams require low end-toend delay. This paper proposes a delay-optimized routing algorithm for AVB streams in TSN Networks, considering the influence of the routing and time-based scheduling of TT streams. We prove that the algorithm reduces the AVB delay by evaluating it with another traditional algorithm on test cases.
