摘要

•NHC-carboxylate Pd and Ni complexes were obtained by several synthetic procedures.•Square planar geometry with κ2-C,O-NHC-carboxylate ligands was observed.•Ni complexes are the first NHC-carboxylate complexes reported in the literature.•Pd complexes constitute the first chiral NHC-carboxylate examples in the bibliography.
