Optimal Design of a Ship Inner Shell Plate Based on Swarm Intelligence Algorithms

A method is proposed to transform the ship design problem into an optimal value problem. It is executed by establishing a mathematical model of the ship inner shell plate and swarm intelligence optimisation algorithms. This approach aims to optimise the shape and size of the ship inner shell plate in the design stage so that the ship can obtain maximum cargo hold volume. To meet the regulations of various maritime organisations and classification societies, designers should comprehensively consider constraints involving the size, stability, draft and sailing speed of the ship. Additionally, they should take into account algorithms for the artificial bee colony optimisation, particle swarm optimisation, genetic, and differential evolution algorithm that takes the maximum cargo hold volume as the optimisation target for optimisation calculation. Through the design of cargo oil tanks, particularly a 26500DWT oil tanker, the accuracy and effectiveness of the method encompass the optimisation ability of the artificial bee colony algorithm in the optimisation design of ship inner hull plates instead of the other three algorithms.
