•Bio-based epoxy vitrimer with high performance was designed.•The self-healing efficiencies of the TECEVs build up to above 100% at 160 °C.•Self-healing, shape memory, and reprocessing are integrated in a TECEVs system.•A typical TECEVs can function with excellent flame retardancy.
