Fabrication of metal-organic framework Mn-PBC for theranostic application

A metal-organic framework (MOF) Mn-PBC was synthesized and it showed theranostic effect containing T1-weighted magnetic resonance property and chemodynamic therapy effect. Considering its porous structure, an anti-cancer doxorubicin hydrochloride (DOX) was loaded into MOF which was named DOX@Mn-PBC. It showed controllable drug release under different pH and temperature. Moreover, the system displayed more excellent tumor suppressive effect than Mn-PBC. The Mn-based system containing anti-cancer drugs displayed promising application as a tumor theranostic agent.
