Quantitative susceptibility-weighted imaging in presence of strong susceptibility sources: Application to hemorrhage

•tSWI requires a higher upper threshold than standard for best hemorrhage depiction.•tSWI minimizes blooming effect observed in SWI.•tSWI also reduces phase wrap artifacts which are observed in SWI.•tSWI can be used as a complementary technique for visualizing hemorrhages.
