摘要
In 2010, AMSPDC established a committee* to research, design, plan and gauge members interests in a new national program called the Pediatric Leadership Development Program (PLDP) to serve as a pipeline for the next generation of pediatric chairs and other pediatric academic and executive health leadership positions. The program, launched in 2012, built upon the successes of AMSPDC’s formal mentorship program for new chairs1 and followed literature reviews, discussions with leaders of a similar national programs in Family Medicine, focus groups of current and aspiring chairs, the Senior Director of the AAMC, and the assessment of interest among AMSPDC members during annual meetings in 2010 and 2011.
