摘要
When everyday life as we know it is turned upside down in times of change, anxiety, stress and worry easily soar. More than ever before, educators need tools not only for teaching, but also to support and enhance the wellbeing of their students. But how do educators reach anxious and worrying students? How can students be encouraged to focus on what is important and enhance their psychological flexibility and growth? Change is not an easy quick-fix, especially not when our attention scope narrows in on threat in times of crisis. To enhance well-being through building positive resources, we need systematic long-term work, taking the current reality into account. Flourishing Students is an evidence-based program to enhance well-being in students through methods in positive psychology and cognitive behaviour therapy. The program consists of 30 well-being lessons spanning strengths work, enhancing positive emotions and relationships, strengthening a dynamic mindset, increasing realistic hope, and resilience to bounce back from difficulty. With the Flourishing Students program as a starting point, this chapter will focus on how well-being work in schools can be applied and adapted in a time of unprecedented change.
