Characteristics and Design Methods of New Inverter Output Double-Trap LCL Filter for HS-PMSM Drives

This paper proposed a new high-order parallel-double-trap LCL filter (PDTLCL) for high-speed permanent magnet synchronous motor (HS-PMSM), which contains two notch branches set at specific frequencies. The proposed PDTLCL, filter can attenuates the current harmonics near the switching frequency and its multiples, while maintaining a high slope attenuation rate in the high frequency range. This paper presents two parameter design methods for the proposed PDTLCL filter topology. Design scheme I enables the PDTLCL filter have better attenuation of switching-frequency current harmonics than traditional topology filters, and the design scheme H can ensure a certain degree of robustness when the system parameters change. Based on the above, the parameters selection standard and the parameters optimization design method are investigated with the HS-PMSM load. Moreover, the parameters of PI controller and the active damping control method of the PDTLCL filter are analyzed. The performance comparison analysis of the PDTLCL, filter and similar topology filters are presented. Simulation and experimental results prove the feasibility and validity of the proposed theory.
