Metal-organic frameworks derived TiO2/carbon nitride heterojunction photocatalyst with efficient catalytic performance under visible light

•TiO2/carbon nitride (TCN-x) heterojunction photocatalyst was fabricated through the pyrolysis of an NH2-MIL-125/melamine mixture.•TCN-0.2 exhibited excellent photocatalytic activity towards tetracycline and methylene blue.•The as-prepared TCN-0.2 as a heterojunction photocatalyst largely improved the separation and migration of photoinduced electron-hole pairs.
