EFFECT OF SULFUR APPLIED AND FOLIAR SPRAY OF YEAST ON GROWTH AND YIELD OF SUGAR BEET UNDER IRRIGATION DEPRIVATION CONDITIONS
FRESENIUS ENVIRONMENTAL BULLETIN(2022)
摘要
Two field experiments were conducted during 2015/2016 and 2016/2017 seasons to study the effect of sulfur levels (S) at (0, 25 g/L), yeast (Y) concentration (0, 5, 10, 15 g/L) and irrigation deprivation (D) (Normal, D. of 1 and 2 irrigation) on growth, productivity and quality attributes of sugar beet, split split plot design in 3 replications was used in this study, the results showed that sulfur levels recorded a significant increase in growth, yields and chemical characters. Normal and D. 1 irrigation gave the highest values in plant weight, dry leaves weight, LA, LAI, TSS. The highest significant values of Na, N and chlorophyll content were obtained from D. 1 irrigation, D. 2 irrigation gave the greatest values of root length, fresh and dry root weight, LA characters. Yeast at rate (15 g/L) recorded the highest significant values of growth characters, weight of plants, weight of roots and weight of top yields. Yeast extract at rate (5g/L) recorded the highest significant values of Na, N, T.S.S. The effect of interactions such as S x D, S x Y, D x Y and S x D x Y recorded significant differences in growth, yield and chemical characters. It could be concluded that the combination of deprivation one irrigation and yeast concentration at rate (15 g/L) with application of sulfur under the condition of Egyptian north delta recorded the highest productivity of sugar beet and sugar %.
