Comparative Analysis of Classification Based Intrusion Detection Techniques

Internet is in the reach of every person around the globe. Internet is basically a huge network of machines all around the world, storing important data of every person, every nation. But this network can be attacked or intruded by an attacker. As the world is moving towards a smart system implementation in every manageable thing, even a city, security and privacy are key concerns. This is where the Intrusion Detection Systems come into action. Intrusion detection systems detect an intrusion or attack and inform the administrator or the handler regarding the attack. But not all the Intrusion Detection techniques are efficient. An Intrusion Detection technique might be efficient for a specific attack but might not be as efficient for another. In this paper we aim to compare various algorithms that are used for detection the intrusions and conclude about which one is suitable for a specific use case.
