Development of focal choroidal excavation in a case of idiopathic choroidal neovascular membrane.

The patient developed recurrent episodes of subretinal hemorrhage that were treated with antivascular endothelial growth factor injections. Over the follow-up period, swept source optical coherence tomography through the lesion revealed progressive reduction in size of the choroidal neovascular membrane complex with the development of acquired focal choroidal excavation.
