Emotions in Online Learning

Millions and millions of years of evolution and Man still depends on emotions. Emotions influence a great part of our lives from the way people communicate, the way rational decisions are made to the way we learn. In a traditional learning environment the teacher can detect changes in the student emotional behavior and adjust his teaching accordingly. In a learning platform this interaction does not exist or, if exists it does not occur in real time, but if we could? Also, if this interaction would exist, would it be beneficial to the learning process?
