Substrate Integrated Waveguides Slot Antenna Array with Heatsink Enclosed

In this paper, a substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) slot antenna array combined with fin-shaped heatsink is designed. It consists of four 1×8 SIW slot antenna elements. The heatsink structure enclosed in the design enhances heat dissipation capability of the antenna array while maintaining the radiation performance of the original structure. The simulated −10 dB impedance bandwidth of the antenna array with and without heatsink are 6.5% and 6.4%, respectively. In addition, the realized gain are 19.16 dBi and 18.04 dBi at 28 GHz, respectively.
