Research on Wind-Photovoltaic-Battery Microgrids Configuration Optimization Based on Nonlinear Reliability Constraints

A complete model for optimizing configuration of wind/PV/battery microgrid is presented. The optimization objective is minimizing the life cycle cost and the constraints consist of equality and nonlinear inequality, in which the latter one considers electricity supply reliability, tie-line exchanged power, renewable energy utilization, self-balance etc. Based on national standards, a reliability definition (Loss of Power Supply Time Probability, LPSTP) that comprehensively considers both the power failure time and number of users with power failure is given in this paper. And the influences of reliability indexes on initial cost has been also studied in this paper. Besides, two main scenarios of microgrids: (1) 100% local accommodation of renewable energies; (2) minimizing the term of return on investment; are discussed in this paper. In summary, this optimization model can be applied to a variety of scenarios in microgrids by adjusting constraints settings flexibly.
