An Evaluation of the Impacts of Built Environment on Commuters’ Mode Traffic Choice Behavior: A Case Study in Shenzhen
CICTP 2019(2019)
摘要
This paper models the impacts of built environment on commuters' traffic mode choice behavior. The model considers a series of built environment variables, including the Hukou system and housing type, and other control variables. An extensive dataset, extracted from Shenzhen household travel survey and building survey, is employed to calibrate this model. Our findings validate the connection between built environment and mode choice behavior, specifically, higher density and mixed land use leads to less car usage. The results also show that the China-specific built environment variables, Hukou and housing type, are critical in the linkage between built environment and travel behavior.
