A baseline of Arbutus unedo L. microbiome for future research: In vitro versus ex vitro

•A diverse microbiota was identified on in vitro plants.•OTUs were assigned to 7 phyla and 79 bacteria genera, and one Archaea genus.•The most abundant phylum was Actinobacteriota (48%) and Proteobacteria (43%).•Genotype is a determinant factor shaping microbiota structure.•Higher bacteria diversity on in situ plants.
