Implementing "Rethinking Education": Matching Skills Profiles With Open Courses Through Linked Open Data Technologies

摘要
The "Rethinking Education" EC strategy highlights the importance of learning outcomes in education. The so-called Massive Open Online Courses (MOOC) is becoming an increasingly important part of education. In this paper, we present a novel approach and proof-of-concept application to enable automatically matching MOOCs learning outcomes with learners' needs related to specific skills and competencies. For this purpose, we exploit the ESCO classification as well as Linked Open Data (LOD) technologies.
