摘要

•Fe-Al-MOF was successfully synthesized via solvothermal one-step treatment.•The adsorption capacity of metal–organic frameworks for phosphorous removal was tuned by Al3+.•Fast kinetics, high sorption capacity and strong selectivity were demonstrated.
