摘要
Background: The polymorphism of XRCC3 T241M has been indicated to be correlated with glioma susceptibility, but study results are still controversial. The aim of this study was to obtain a more exact estimation of the association between XRCC3 Thr241Met polymorphism and glioma through a meta-analysis. Methods: The meta-analysis included 11 published case-control studies involving 4637 cases and 5854 controls. Odds ratio (OR) with 95% confidence interval (95% CI) were used to evaluate the association of XRCC3 T241M polymorphism with glioma. Results: The association between XRCC3 Thr241Met polymorphism and glioma was significant in the allele model, recessive model, and co-dominant model overall. In a stratified analysis by the ethnicity, significantly increased risk was detected in Asians in the allele model, recessive model, and co-dominant model. Conclusions: In conclusion, XRCC3 Thr241Met polymorphism was implied to be associated with increased glioma risk. More studies are needed to validate this result.
