The article shows an experience of educational innovation in the Faculty of Engineering of the University (FI - UdelaR in Spanish). The paper is about the Module - Workshop of Environmental Engineering that was developed in the second semester 2004. This module was an optional subject of the career of Civil Engineering. This proposal was worked jointly teachers of the subject Elements of Environmental Engineering and teachers of the Education Department of the Faculty of Engineering (UEFI - UdelaR in Spanish). The experience was positive; the process allowed the students to integrate conceptual aspects, to improve written expression skills and learning strategies, in particular, working group skills in order to elaborate a monograph.
