摘要
The present study aims to comprehend the determining factors in the seismic response of two typical slopes with contrasting characteristics in the city of Lima, Peru: one outlined as a basin-shaped slope adjacent to a rocky mountain and other located in a sandy dune. The analyses were conducted through the finite element modelling of the aforementioned types of slopes considering, first, the variation of the dynamic properties along their two-dimensional sections. In addition, simplified models were adopted in order to isolate the effects controlling their overall dynamic response. Finally, amplification factors were calculated along the surface of both models and evidenced that basically the joint interference of vertically-propagating waves and the surface waves generated either from the substructure or topographic irregularity governs their particular behavior patterns.
