Deep Learning Bio-Signal Analysis from a Wearable Device.

World Health Organization reports that cardiovascular diseases are the main cause of death worldwide. To prevent the premature death rate it is important to ensure appropriate treatment. This is one of the most important WHO targets related to cardiovascular diseases. In this work we present a framework that is able to detect cardiovascular abnormalities with an application of specially prepared Android application that is capable of taking patient’s input data. Such an interface allows for bio-parameters (e.g. sex, weight, etc.) input by the user. Furthermore, in this study we describe an artificial neural network model that is trained on the data collected by the wearable device that was also connected with the application with a specially prepared API.Moreover, this paper highlights the possibility of utilization of a smartwatch with blood-pressure capabilities to deliver real-time measurements, which are added to input feature vector. Presented results show that the proposed scheme is capable of performing real-time data analysis. Achieved accuracy values are promising and allow for further examination of the application of off the shelf device in the detection of cardiovascular diseases.
