摘要
Prenatal exposure to drugs of abuse is known to alter neurodevelopment, predisposing children to later psychopathologies in which emotion processing is typically impacted. The “two-hit hypothesis” suggests a prenatal environmental exposure (the first hit) disrupts brain development and establishes a vulnerability to a second hit that occurs later in life. Using data from the Adolescent Brain Cognitive Development (ABCD) study, we test the hypothesis that prenatal drug exposure (PDE) will exacerbate the effects of childhood trauma (CT) on emotion reactivity.
