Robust SVD-based schemes for medical image watermarking

摘要
•In this paper, a watermarking approach is developed to ensure copyright protection of medical images. The proposed approach in this work is a hybrid scheme based on a discrete wavelet transforms (DWT) and singular value decomposition (SVD).•The proposed approach being blind watermarking, the extraction of the mark is done without using the original image, the watermarked image alone will be sufficient to identify the patient.•The integrity of the extracted information can be verified by comparing the hash embedded in the image.•The tests conducted have demonstrated that our approach allows insertion of a large amount of data while preserving a reasonable imperceptibility compared to recent related work.•In terms of robustness, the tests performed have shown that our approach is resistant to filtering and compression attacks while maintaining a good normalized correlation coefficient.•Since those scheme offers a reasonable imperceptibility and robustness compared to related works, it could be useful for copyrights protection of medical images.
