Age constraints on the genesis of the Changkeng tungsten deposit, Nanling region, South China

•Zircon U-Pb dating results refine the emplacement age of the Changkeng pluton at 156.7 ± 0.54 Ma.•Cassiterite U-Pb dating and molybdenite Re-Os dating constrains the timing of W-Sn mineralization from Changkeng deposit at 156.1 ± 3.4 Ma and 156.9 ± 2.0 Ma, respectively.•Igneous event and hydrothermal activity occurred synchronously.•Source of magmatic and metallogenetic materials both were derived from reworking of crustal materials under an extensional setting.
