Analysis Of Triple-Polarized Antenna Systems Using Electromagnetic Information Theory

Electromagnetic information theory is explored by considering the vector field distribution in MIMO systems. In order to fully utilize the polarization diversity, the uniform circular arrays with triple-polarized dipoles with derived radiation patterns are analyzed in line-of-sight channel condition. It is shown that the triple-polarized dipoles exhibit higher spectrum efficiency than dual-polarized ones when the transmitter and receiver are offset with each other. Besides, to generate triple-polarized waves, a compact four-port magneto-electric dipole antenna is proposed at 28 GHz.
