Comparison of two commercial surrogate ELISAs to detect a neutralising antibody response to SARS-CoV-2

•Detection of SARS-CoV-2 neutralising antibodies is essential yet labour intensive.•Surrogate ELISAs (Adipogen, GenScript) can detect neutralising antibodies.•Detection is not quantitative; no titre determination possible.•AdipoGen sELISA is superior in specifictiy; can be used in a two step diagnostic algorithm.
