The micro-volume liquid focusing effect in Janus membrane and its biosensing application

摘要
A porous polyethersulfone membrane with asymmetric (Janus) surface wettability was prepared to achieve diode-like water permeability and focused transmembrane transport of micro-volume liquid. When applied to micro-volume of liquid biosensing (e.g. glucose), both detected signal and response time were enhanced due to the liquid focusing permeation mechanism of Janus membrane. This research would be useful for the potential applications of Janus membranes with anisotropic wettability in bio-analysis, balancing detection volume, time and selectivity by the micro-volume liquid focusing permeation performance.
