Effect of second phase particles on the dynamic recrystallization in Ni-W alloys during thermal compression

•The effect of second phase W particles on the dynamic recrystallization is studied in Ni-W alloys.•The second phase W particles are of ellipsoidal shape and rod-like shape.•The phenomenon of particles stimulated nucleation is observed in the Ni-W alloys after thermal deformation.•The dynamic recrystallization evolution diagram is established for Ni-W alloys with large second phase particles.
