Fast Monte Carlo method to simulate atmospheric backscattering of wireless laser sensor network

Environmental detection is a typical application field of wireless sensor networks, in which the research of atmospheric environment detection system is of significance. In this paper, a new fast Monte Carlo method is developed for computing the received power of laser backscattering. It was confirmed that the Monte Carlo method for laser backscattering analysis in atmosphere is powerful and flexible due to its small divergence angle and good confidentiality. The received power introduced by moving distance, visibility and transmit power are chosen as variables to be studied. The experimental results are consistent with the simulation results. It shows the new method is certainly accurate for those laser backscattering analysis, and more convenient to operate than the previous method.
