Deadbeat Control For Ac Drive Systems With Optimal Dynamic Performance

The deadbeat current control generates the reference modulation voltage to achieve zero current error in one sampling interval. In traditional deadbeat control, this reference voltage is always be restricted to the linear modulation region of the space vector modulation (SVM). However, this restriction results in a reduced performance during large transients due to the under utilization of the dc-link voltage. This paper presents an optimal dynamic performance deadbeat current control for ac drive systems with maximum dc-link utilization. A computationally efficient optimization method is proposed to find the optimal switch vector when the reference voltage of deadbeat control exceeds the voltage capability of the converter. The effectiveness of the proposed deadbeat control scheme for induction machine (IM) and permanent-magnet synchronous machine (PMSM) is verified by simulation results.
