•Three-vessel disease (3VD) constitutes a advanced stage of CAD.•Thyroid hormones have a pervasive effect on both the physiological and pathological processes of cardiovascular system.•Low level of FT3/FT4 ratio is associated with an increased risk of long-term cardiac death and MACCE in euthyroid patients with 3VD.
