摘要
•A two-axis water-immersible scanning mirror with hybrid polymer and elastomer nanocomposite hinges is developed and its application in 2D and 3D ultrasound microscopic imaging is demonstrated.•A new elastomer nanocomposite with low Young’s modulus and high elastic strain is synthesized, characterized, and applied to significantly reduce the slow-axis resonance frequency and enlarge its scanning range at DC∼10 Hz.•The spatial resolution and field of view of the ultrasound microscopic imaging is improved as a result of denser raster scanning pattern generated by the hybrid-hinge scanning mirror.
