摘要
We thank Vadgama et al. (1) for their comments on our cross-sectional study that showed that hyperactivity was associated with higher fat-free mass and physical activity in Swedish preschool children (2). Vadgama et al. raise several questions on the dietary assessment method used in our study. As described in our paper (2), this study used baseline data from an intervention that targeted parents and only focused only on the home environment. Furthermore, we also acknowledged that misclassification was a possibility, as the responses were due to the parents' awareness (2). Our dietary method has been validated against the golden standard, namely the double labelled water method which has an acceptable level of agreement. This was a major strength of our study. Finally, although Vadgama et al. stated that the study did not account for socioeconomic differences in the children's diet, we did adjust our estimates for parental education as an indicator of socioeconomic status.
