•Chemical composition and biological activities of 7 Lagochilus were investigated.•A new iridoid glucoside 7-cinnamoyllamalbide was isolated from L. gypsaceus.•Antioxidant potential of the components of the Lagochilus species were evaluated.•5-Hydroxy-7,4′-dimethoxyflavone inhibited tested enzymes.
