Agricultural adapters from the vineyard landscape impact native oak woodland birds

•Vineyard landscapes promote a subset of bird species “agricultural adapters”.•There are negative patterns of co-occurrence between agricultural adapters and some oak woodland birds.•These indirect interactions may be an important driver of landscape scale biotic homogenization.•Spillover effects from agricultural land into adjacent natural areas should be considered in conservation planning.
